Government forces on Thursday launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Noorpora hamlet of Tral, native village of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind chief Zakir Musa.
Reports said that a joint team of Jammu & Kashmir police, army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 180 BN cordoned off the village.
Witnesses said that massive forces were deployed in the village and house-to-house searches were launched.
A police official said that a cordon and search operation was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.
"It was a "normal practice" by the forces that concluded peacefully by evening," he said.
