A complete shutdown was observed on the second consecutive day on Wednesday in Tral and Aripal areas of Pulwama district against the killing of Jaish commander, Noor Muhammed Tantray.

A complete shutdown was observed on the second consecutive day on Wednesday in Tral and Aripal areas of Pulwama district against the killing of Jaish commander, Noor Muhammed Tantray.

All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed in these areas while public transport was off the roads.  

Tantray alias Noor Trali was killed and a policeman injured in a gunfight at Samboora village of Pampore township in Pulwama district on Monday night.

Scores of people from different areas assembled at the slain militant's home at Darganaie Gund village of Aripal tehsil and offered prayers for him. Many religious scholars, separatist leaders and locals thronged Tantray's residence to express sympathy and solidarity with his family.

Meanwhile, authorities restored mobile internet service in district Pulwama on Wednesday morning. The service was snapped on Tuesday.
