Judicial remand of incarcerated chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik and other Front leaders was extended on Saturday, a JKLF spokesman said.
"Muhammad Yasin Malik and other leaders have not been released yet from police custody though their judicial remand expired today. Police extended the judicial remand of JKLF chairman vice-chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi and zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri who are languishing at Central Jail Srinagar since April 2," the spokesman said.
"JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal who was arrested by police yesterday was also shifted to Central Jail Srinagar on a 10 day remand. Budgam police raided the residence of JKLF activist Bilal Ahmad Dar of Nasrullahpora Budgam and arrested him along with other JKLF senior activist Molvi Abdul Rashid. Both arrested activists have been lodged at some unknown police station. Baramullah police have already detained JKLF deputy chief organizer Mir Siraj ud Din and district president Baramullah Abdul Rashid Magloo," he added.
"JKLF zonal committees in Pakistan, Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK), UK, Europe and other parts of the world and JKLF diplomatic front have been organizing various protests against growing oppression and spree of killings in Kashmir. JKLF senior vice chairman Abdul Hamid Butt and Sajid Sideequi led protest rally at Mirpur condemned the atrocities being committed on Kashmiris. JKLF Pakistan chapter yesterday organized a protest program against killings of Kashmirs at press club Rawalpindi. Similar protests were held at Kotli which were led by zonal president Dr Tauqeer," he said.
"A protest was held outside Indian embassy in France today which was led by supreme council member Muzamil Adil and president JKLF branch France Mushtaq Pasha. JKLF diplomatic bureau and UK zone are organizing a protest outside Indian embassy on April 9. This protest will be led by chairman Diplomatic Bureau Professor Raja Zaffar Khan and UK zonal president Sabir Gul. Similar program will be held outside Indian embassy in Belgium on April 12, that will be led by EU zonal president Tanveer Choudhary and general secretary Masood Iqbal Mir. JKLF Europe and USA zones are also organizing such protests in other cities of the world too during which protests will be held against ongoing genocide by Indian forces across the valley of Kashmir and other parts of Jammu Kashmir," the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, a delegation of JKLF today visited the family of Rouf Ahmad Khanday who was recently slain at Diyalgam. District president Pulwama Javed Ahmad Bhat along with others visited Pulwama and participated in the funeral prayers of slain militant Musavir Ahmad.
