Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) today alleged New Delhi and state government had launched a crackdown on the people of Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to break their resolve for seeking right to self-determination.
"Oppressors are daydreaming by remaining under the wrong impression that arrests and crackdowns on people and leadership are going to break the resolve of people," the DeM spokesperson Riffat Fatima said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson said, "The incarcerated chairperson of DeM Asiya Andrabi, the secretary general Nahida Nasreen, press secretary Sofi Fehemeeda and other two girls who were arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police last month were today presented in Anantnag court. They were driven from Central Jail Srinagar in a vehicle that was not in the condition of travelling."
She said, "Since Asiya Sahiba is an Asthama patient she had to continuously use inhaler for want of oxygen in the vehicle. The incarcerated leaders of DeM who were produced in Anantnag court today have been sent to police remand for ten days," the spokesperson said.
