Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA) on Thursday held its 54th general body meeting.
In a statement, KUTA spokesperson said meeting was held at Gandhi Bhawan of the varsity in which 350 faculty members from main and satellite campuses of the university participated.
He said on the occasion special session was also convened to welcome new vice-chancellor, Prof Talat Ahmad.
On the occasion, spokesperson said office bearers of KUTA spoke about various issues and concerns of the university and its faculty members.
He said on the occasion KU VC Prof. Talat Ahmad urged upon faculty members to take varsity to new heights of excellence.
The spokesperson said Prof Talat asked faculty to take up several research projects and secure funding for them through centrally sponsored schemes.
