Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today strongly condemned the killing of a civilian Shahid Mansoor at Shopian by forces, stating that 'he was killed in a cold blood.'

"Killing of Shahid was a old blooded murder as, according to his family,  he was abducted and later killed by the forces," Mirwaiz said, in a statement.

"It was a glaring example of how under the cover of infamous and brutal cordon and search operations (CASOs)our youth are being killed and targeted on a daily basis."

"We also pay rich tributes to the armed youth Irfan killed in an encounter at Gagran, Shopian," Mirwaiz said, adding that " New Delhi's intransigence on Kashmir issue is pushing the youth to picking up guns."

CONDOLES DEMISE OF S KHALID IBRAHIM

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of prominent political figure of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, saying that "He would always be remembered for his unflinching stand on Kashmir issue."

"Late Sardar Khalid Khan was the son of former president PaK Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and a close associate of Muhajir-e-Milat Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah," Mirwaiz said in a statement.

"His political and social contributions are unforgettable and that he will be remembered for his unflinching stand on Kashmir issue as he always maintained that it should be resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of its people," Mirwaiz added.

Praising Khalid Ibrahim for his farsightedness, Mirwaiz said, "He was a great leader who earned name and fame by serving the people of PaK on all fronts in his four-decade long political career. He always stood to his principles and never compromised on his stand on the Kashmir issue."
