Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) today paid glowing tributes to its slain leaders, Ashfaq Majeed Wani and Shabir Ahmad Sidiqui, on their anniversary.
"People's struggles and revolutions never rely on government support," said JKLF acting chairman Abdul Hameed Butt, in a statement while paying rich tributes to Ashfaq Wani and Shabir Sidiqui on their anniversary.
Butt said, "JKLF is a people's struggle that has been nourished by the sacred blood of great legend, ideologue, youth icon and shining star Ashfaq Majeed Wani and great son of soil and scholar Shabir Sideequi. The party's march towards the cause cannot be halted by banning on it."
He said, "Ashfaq Majeed Wani was a born leader and the days and years of his life from September 6, 1966, to March 30, 1990 are glaring testimony of his greatness.
He was a symbol of courage, fearlessness, piousness and passion." "We also pay rich tributes to Sadaqat Shabir Ahmad Sidiqi and others Sidiqi was a religious scholar and a man of wisdom who strived and sacrificed his life for Kashmir.
He will also be remembered for his philanthropy and work in the field of education and Islam," Butt said. Meanwhile, the JKLF spokesman said that a prayer meeting in connection with the anniversaries of Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Shabir Sidiqi, Dr Abdul Ahad Guru and advocate Jalil Andrabi , and others was held at Eidgah today.
