SKUAST-K kick starts online workshops

SKUAST-K has started series of online workshops on leadership principles and progressive professional amid pandemic.

Prof Nazeer Ahmad, Vice Chancellor and Chief Patron of the program stressed to have leadership workshops to hone up leadership qualities within working individuals and students.

He emphasized the dearth and need to generate future leaders to respond successfully in the uneven situations as the current pandemic. He reaffirmed his belief to see SKUAST-K as leader in agricultural education in near future.

Prof. N. A. Ganai, Director Planning and Monitoring SKUAST-K chaired the first online session and described the reformations under which SKUAST-K evolved to emerge as a model under the current crises. He said that SKUAST-K under the dynamic leadership of Hon'ble under NAHEP SKUAST-K.  Prof. T. H. Masoodi Dean Faculty of Forestry SKUAST-K Co-Chaired the first session and stressed to remain focussed to develop leadership qualities like communication and integrity in their day to day lives so that it comes naturally as a trait.

Majula Sularia Thakur, the domain expert for the workshop series is Social entrepreneur, CEO, Transformers Value Creators and Director Prasanchetas Foundation. She has been narrated in Josh Talk State of Women Entrepreneurship in India. She has also been recognized as one of the upcoming women entrepreneurs of the country by Facebook. Ms. Manjula in her session presented a motivational talk on leadership traits and some real world examples through her personal experiences from Kashmir in the past. She presented the mannerism to evolve as leader in our respective domains under the current crises. This is a series of three workshops aimed at building leadership skills, staying focused on our principles and sustaining as a progressive professional in the difficult times.

The workshop series is being conducted by the Faculty of Forestry SKUAST-K with Dr. Akhlaq Amin Wani as the Organizing Secretary. More than 160 persons have registered for the workshop series with faculty members and students (UG, PG and PhD) from all the faculties of SKUAST-K and other institutes across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Others who attended the program include Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, Prof. M. A. Islam, Dr. Sameera Qayoom, Dr Tasneem Mubarak, Dr. Baby Summuna, Dr. Shaheen Kauser, Dr Mohit Kaushal, Dr Harpal Singh, Dr Rehana, Dr Latief, Dr. Parvez Sheikh, Dr. Shah Murtaza, Dr. Amir Farooq etc. The program shall conclude in the next week.
