24 students injured as excursion bus meets accident in South Kashmir

As many as 24 girl students were injured after a school excursion bus they were on board met an accident in Siligam area of Ashmuqam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district Friday evening.

News agency GNS said the bus bearing registration numberJK03-2711 was carrying students and staff of Government High School Dudhkul,Kokernag to a picnic.

   

The accident occurred when the bus on its return from Pahalgamreached near Siligam in Ashmuqam, and skidded off the road.

In the incident, 24 students were injured who were moved toSub-District Hospital Seer for treatment.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mattan Dr Ashraf Padder told GNSthe 24 injured girl students were being treated at the hospital. He said thecondition of all the injured is stable.

A police official also confirmed the accident and said thata case under relevant sections of law has been registered and furtherinvestigation taken up.
