Three youth were picked up by government forces during a cordon and search operation at Chewakalan village in Pulwama district on Tuesday.
A police official said that army personnel of 55 RR, the CRPF and the SOG men laid a siege around the Chewakalan village and conducted door to door search operation.
Three local youth were detained during the operation, he said. They have been identified as Sajad Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Asif Mir and Kamran Ahmad Wani.
District police chief Muhammad Aslam Choudary said they were being questioned for their alleged role in stone pelting and road blocking incidents
“They will be booked only if they are found involved in such activities, otherwise they will be let off soon,” Choudary said.
