Police on Friday booked four drug peddlers under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted them to different jails.
A police official identified the accused as Riyaz AhmadBadan, Mudasir Ahmad Piswal, Tanveer Ahmad Raina and Zameer Ahmad Raina.
While Badan and Raina were shifted to district jailAnantnag, Piswal and Zameer were sent to district jail Baramulla, a top policeofficial said.
He said while two of the accused were arrested last month,the other two were arrested in January this year with 17 kilogram of BrownSugar which has a value of REs 70 crore in international market.
“A case under FIR No 02/19 U/S 08/21 NDPS Act has been registeredin police station Kralpora,” he said.
Earlier this month, authorities booked four drug peddlersnamely Abdul Majeed Munshi, Ghulam Rasool War, Mohammad Hussain Lone and ShabirAhmad Mir under the PSA.
