4 killed, many injured in road accidents across J&K

A 60-year old woman was killed while several others were critically injured after the vehicle they were travelling in turned turtle in north Kashmir’s Uri sector on Friday.

Sources said a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK0F-9820 was on its way to Churanda village along Line of Control (LoC) when its driver apparently lost control over it and the vehicle turned turtle.

   

Sources said in the mishap a 60-year old woman died. The deceased was identified as Nazeeri Begum wife of Beeru Jinder. Many other passengers were critically injured and were rushed to local hospital for advance treatment.

PATTAN

In another road accident in north Kashmir’s Pattan village an 18-year old boy was killed on Friday in a motorcycle crash.

Sources said the boy while riding a motorcycle suddenly lost control over it and rammed the bike into a tree at Trikolbal area of Pattan.

The injured boy was rushed to sub district hospital Pattan where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased was identified as Asif Ali Dar son of Mohammad Yousuf Dar of Trikolbal Pattan.

RAJOURI

A driver died when the tractor he was driving in the fields at Dhar Sakri village of Kotranka tehsil, in district Rajouri met an accident on Friday at about 5 PM, police said.

The deceased was identified as Vipan Kumar son of Vishwa Nath of Gagrote Rajouri.

THANAMANDI

In another tractor accident that took place in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday at Nerojal village in Thanamandi tehsil, 19-year old Mohammad Shafeeq son of Mohammad Younis died on the spot, police said.

In this accident, one Mohammad Mahroof son of Mohammad Iqbal was critically injured who was shifted to district hospital Rajouri. Two more persons were injured in an accident at Manjakote area on Jammu – Poonch highway, police said.

The accident happened due to collision between a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK12A 6198 and a car (JK02B 2554).

The injured were identified as Gias ud Din son of Sanaullah and Khurshid Ahmed son of Mohammad Shafi, both residents of Seri Khawaja Surankote.

The duo was admitted in district hospital Rajouri. Police have registered cases in all these matters.
