45 women winners in north

At least 45 women candidates from have won municipal elections across northern Kashmir.  Among the winners are both fresh and second-time contestants.  Jasbeer Kour of Congress registered her second win, defeating youth leader Tawseef Raina by a margin of three votes.

Nine of the women contestants for Baramulla Municipal Council, two Municipal Committee Pattan, one MC Watergam, four MC Uri, two MC Kunzer, two Municipal Council Sopore, six MC Handwara as independent candidates, four MC Kupwara and three Langate MC. 

   

In the three MCs of Bandipora district— Bandipora, Sumbal and Hajin—12 women candidates emerged victorious.
