6 of 14 govt schools in Kargil fare poorly in class 11 exams

Around half of the government schools in Kargil division have secured below 50 percent result in the annual 2018 class 11th examination.

The class 11th result for Kargil division was declared by JK board of school education (BOSE) on Thursday.

   

As per the JKBOSE figures, 1711 students from 16 schools including 14 government schools had appeared in the exams in Kargil division out of which 1021 have been declared as qualified by JKBOSE. 6 of the 14 government schools in Kargil have shown less than 50 per cent result.

The overall pass percentage of the students is 60 percent- boys 56 percent and girls 62 percent.

As per JKBOSE figures, 88 students have qualified the exams with distinction, 502 students have been awarded first division, 385 have qualified with second division and 46 have secured third division.

 “626 students have to reappear in exams of some subjects while as 64 students have failed in all subjects,” the BOSE statistics reveals.

Also, 196 students have dispute eligibility (DE) in exams while as three students have been punished with unfair means. The class 11th examination was reintroduced to JKBOSE after a gap of more than two decades.

Meanwhile in the stream-wise performance, boys have secured 42 in Arts stream, 73 percent in commerce stream and 63 percent in science stream. Girls have secured 42 percent in Arts stream, 100 percent in commerce and 69 percent result in science stream.
