7 students injured in Pahalgam school bus accident

Seven students were injured after a school bus they were travelling in met with an accident at the tourist resort Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.

A police official said the bus of Army Goodwill School, Lidroo met with an accident near Nunwan base camp today afternoon, leaving seven students injured.

   

The injured were taken to a hospital in Pahalgam from where four of them were referred to district hospital Anantnag for specialised treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable. GKNN

Rafi Mir anguished

PDP chief spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir expressed anguish over the school bus accident at Pahalgam.

Expressing sympathy with the injured students and their families, Mir prayed for their speedy recovery.

Urging the Governor administration to ensure proper health facilities to the injured, Mir said these children need proper and immediate healthcare. He urged the government to have a common “mobile heath rescue unit” for schools in the area.

“I am deeply pained at the accident of these young children. My heartfelt sympathies to their parents and school administration,” Mir in a statement said.

He also demanded financial assistance to the injured for their proper treatment.
