7th pay commission: PDP welcomes extension of benefit to SRO 202 appointees

Peoples’ Democratic Party on Saturday welcomed government decision to give 7th pay commission benefits to the SRO-202 appointees terming it as significant.

In a statement issued to local news gathering agency KNS, the PDP Srinagar district president and MLC Mohammad KhurshidAlam while stating that “confrontational attitude with the employees had become a norm in Jammu and Kashmir’s administrative set-up”, said at  present however the “trend is being reversed by humane, objective and compassionate measures.”

   

The PDP leader said the implementation of the 7th pay commission will benefit more than five lakh government employees.

He said the J&K government is the first in the entire country that has “achieved a remarkable milestone in implementation of the pay commission recommendations.”

Alam said the pro-people governance was “alien to the state which was reeling under the chaotic, anarchic and nepotistic rule for decades.”

He said that the government decision to bring the appointees under SRO-202 under a new framework as also to extend the benefits of pay revision to them “is an indication of how the present regime is pursuing its agenda of addressing the woes and concerns of each and every section of the society.”
