8 booked for fleeing red, buffer zone villages in Pulwama

Authorities on Monday booked eight persons for allegedly violating the quarantine guidelines and fleeing from red and buffer zone villages here.

According to an official, all the persons are residents ofthe red zone village Parigam, and Qazgund, which is a buffer zone.

   

The official said that after fleeing from their village, theculprits had gone to Tral to meet their relatives.

“They had gone to Tral to meet one of their relatives inAmirabad village. No sooner did we get the information we rushed to the villageand arrested them. But by then, they had left the house” an official said.

However, he said that they were traced later and put inquarantine at Hamdard Gramer School Tral.

“All of them have been booked under section 269 IPC(unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infectionof any dangerous disease to life), section 270 IPC ( malignant act likely tospread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowinglydisobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC ( for disobeying any Govtorders” the district magistrate in a statement said.

Parigam has been declared as red zone last week, while as Qazigundas buffer zone after a person who along with his associates had travelled manyvillages and stayed in the mosques there, tested positive for COVID19.
