Dukhtaran-e-Millat(DeM) on Sunday alleged that its incarcerated chairperson Aasiya Andrabi is denied medical treatment and other basic facilities inside New Delhi's Tihar jail.

In a statement, DeM spokesperson Rifat Fatima said: "Deliberate denial of facilities to the party chairperson has affected her health".

"She (Aasiya) was suffering from multiple ailments before she was taken to Delhi. All her ailments have aggravated now as she is being denied medical supplies and other basic facilities inside Tihar jail," she said.

She alleged that DeM chief is being denied matting inside the jail. "This has taken a serious toll on her health as she has been denied matting inside the jail," she added.

She said that other party leaders including Nahida Nasreen and Sofi Fehmeeda too are suffering from health issues.

Meanwhile, she appealed rights bodies to take cognisance of it.
