Aasiya’s house detention rulers’ frustration: DeM

Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, lambasted the state government for placing the party chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi under house detention only eight days after her release from the jail.

“Aasiya Andrabi was placed under house arrest by the  authorities at around 7 PM on the Thursday evening just a week after she was released from jail after serving detention for almost nine  months. This is frustration of the central and state governments,” Nasreen, in a statement today.

“Aasiya had an appointment with a doctor on Friday as she is suffering from multiple ailments but the forces sent its forces and caged her, once again, inside her residence in Soura. We all know and the Indian authorities are also aware about the fact that a report about her ailments was produced by the central jail authorities in the court recently.”

She said, “After serving nine months in the jail and before that she (Aasiya) was under house detention, she, now, had to undergo treatment so that her ailments could be cured; but the frustrated Indian government and their authorities prevented her to undergo medical treatment by placing her under house arrest.”
