Suspected militants on Thursday killed an army man after abducting him in Pulwama district.
Reports said bullet riddled body of an army man Aurangzaeb was spotted by locals at Gusoo village of the district.
Aurangzeb hailed from Kasbalari Salani village of Poonch district and was stationed with army 44 RR at Shadimarg in the district.
A police official said that Aurangzeb was the personal security guard of Major Shukla, who was involved in the killing of militant commander Sameer Tiger.
The official said that around 9:50 am, militants intercepted a private vehicle near Kalampora village and abducted the soldier travelling in it.
The official said that a few minutes before the incident, soldiers at Shadimarg army camp had waved down the vehicle and asked the man behind the wheels to drop the solider, proceeding on leave, at Shopian town.
It may be recalled that on late Wednesday, a policeman was kidnapped by militants from his home at Navpora Payen area of Pulwama. He was, purportedly, released later. The policeman was posted as munshi at an SOG camp in Pulwama. GKNN
