National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and vice- president Omar Abdullah on Saturday expressed grief over loss of lives in train accident in Punjab's Amritsar.
Over fifty people were killed, while over 70 people were injured, when a train mowed down people during religious revelry in Amritsar on Friday.
In a statement, Abdullahs expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. They also prayed for recovery of the injured.
The party also condemned alleged assault on people by forces and killing of pregnant woman in south Kashmir's Pulwama. "The people are being treated as chattel. Even pregnant women aren't safe, and the incident of killing pregnant woman reportedly in cross-firing is shocking. It shakes ones conscience," a NC spokesman said.
