Academic session in GMC Baramulla to start from July: DDC

District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today said that the first academic session in the newly established Government Medical College Baramulla would start from next month. He said that several arrangements have been made with regard to the initiation of class work in the college.

The DDC made these remarks during a meeting convened by himto review the pace and progress of construction and allied work on the college.

   

Principal Govt Medical college Baramulla, Joint DirectorPlanning, Superintendent Engineer circle Baramulla,Chief Medical Officer,Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Engineers from JKPCC and variousother officers were present during the meeting.

Dr Itoo took a detailed review wherein he was informed thatall academic arrangements have been put in place which includes accommodationof students and faculty members, administrative and other necessities. DDC wasalso informed that construction work on several blocks and sections have beencompleted whereas work on the remaining is in its final phase. Moreover variousissues hampering the process were also discussed in the meeting.

Emphasizing upon the concerned agencies to ramp up the paceof remaining work, DDC directed for completing the work of infrastructuraldevelopment upto November 2019. He directed for mobilizing additional men andmachinery and stressed for working with synergy and cooperation so that collegeis made functional with stipulated timeframe. He appointed SE R&B as theNodal Officer and directed him, to review the progress of work on daily basis.

Meanwhile, DDC directed the concerned agency to submit adetailed project report (DPR) for Medical Waste Treatment Plant so that thewaste coming out from different hospitals can be disposed properly.

Earlier, the DDC along with concerned officers inspected thecollege and took the appraisal of construction work. He inspected varioussections of the college which includes lecture, administrative and other blocksduring which he exhorted to speed up the pace of work so that the same iscompleted as early as possible.
