Admin declares 2 more ‘containment zones’ in Baramulla

Baramulla, Nov 22: The Baramulla administration has declared two more locations across Baramulla district as “containment zones”.

The fresh “containment zones” are Nambardar Mohalla, Braman Rafiabad and Alsafa Colony, Sopore. Now the number of “containment zones” across Baramulla district has reached 12.

   

An official of the Health Department said that the fresh order was issued after several persons tested positive for coronavirus at two fresh locations following which authorities declared these areas as “containment zones”. Following the order, there will be complete restrictions in the “containment zones”.

The restrictions include complete lockdown and tight perimeter control except for essential needs. Besides, the movement of the people in and out of “containment zones” has been completely barred.

The authorities have also made testing and vaccination mandatory for the residents of the “containment zones” and those who do not follow the order would invite action including lodging of FIR under the relevant provision of the Disaster Management Act.

The earlier declared containment zones are Mohalla Jadeed Baramulla, Singhbagh Baramulla, Pathla Kanispora, Jetty Khawaja Bagh, Saloosa Kreeri, Kashmir University North Campus Delina Baramulla, Ahmad Complex Delina Baramulla, Dara Gutlian Uri, Sangri Watlab Sopore, and Jalalabad Sopore.
