The Advisor to the Governor KK Sharma today directed officers to speed up the implementation of the various ongoing developmental projects in the power sector so that these are completed within the stipulated timeline.
Principal Secretary Finance Arun Kumar Mehta, CommissionerSecretary Power Hridesh Kumar, Development Commission Power, Chief Engineersand other concerned were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor directed the officersto provide weekly reports about the status of various ongoing projects of thedepartment so that effective monitoring can be ensured. He said that theofficers should also hold regular meetings in order to remove the bottlenecksif any so that the timelines set for the projects can be met and the projectcost escalation and other related things can be effectively checked.
The Advisor said that the power sector is one of the most pivotalsectors of the State and the steps already initiated for its augmentation needto be followed up on regular basis so that the gaps if any are properly checkedand the consumers are provided with an adequate amount of power supply.
He further directed that the work on the ongoing languishingprojects should also be reviewed on timely basis. He said the completion ofthese projects would greatly address the energy lacunae in the State, besidesproviding the people with quality services.
