After COVID19 case, relatives seek shifting of kin quarantined in Uri centre

Relatives of persons quarantined at a centre in Uri on Thursday demanded their shifting after a person from the facility tested positive for COVID19.

On Wednesday, a man quarantined at the centre, JNV Shahkoot,tested positive for COVID 19, evoking scare among other persons quarantinedthere.

   

“Around 22 persons were sharing a single room with the manwho tested positive for the virus. There is threat of transmission of the virusto others, especially those who were sharing the room with him,” said FarooqAhmad, whose relative has been quarantined at the centre.

“We demand immediate shifting of our relatives to othersafer places, besides complete disinfection of the building,” demanded Ahmad.

The JNV Shahkoot is one of the major administrativequarantine centres in Baramulla. More than one hundred persons have beenquarantined at the centre.

The nodal officer for COVID19, BaramullaIrshad Ahmad saidthe entire building will be quarantined and the persons who were sharing roomwith the patient will be shifted to the other room.
