Students and teachers of Army Goodwill School, Anantnag Highground celebrated Guru Hargobind Singh Jayanti on Thursday, a statement said.
It said that the daywas observed under the aegis of Army’s 1 RR. “The day unfolded with thePrincipal giving an opening speech emphasising the importance of the day. On this occasion, a special assembly wasconducted by the students highlighting the Guru’s achievements and sacrifices.The anecdotes from his life underlining the principles of humanity, fraternityand equality were also narrated by the students,” the statement added.
“To educate the students about the 6th holy Guru, abiography was screened in the school. Various thoughts by Guru Hargobind Singhwere also presented through posters. Sweets were also distributed among thechildren. It’s been an endeavour of AGS, Anantnag High Ground to imbibe virtuesin students in all walks of life so as to make them better and responsiblecitizens of the society in times to come,” the statement added.
