Muslim Conference (S) chairman Shabir Ahmad Dar today alleged that the government was deliberately prolonging the detention of incarcerated leaders.
Dar in a statement said the continued detention of Masarat Alam, Aasiya Andrabi, Farooq Ahmad Towheedi and others is sheer “political vendetta.”
“The treatment meted out to theses prisoners of conscience is a matter of concern and international community must take cognizance and ask Delhi to release all these prisoners without any further delay. The grounds of detention given to Asiya Andrabi, Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida. Nasreen hold no water. Same is the case with Masrat Alam Bhat and Farooq Ahmed Tawhedi,” he added.
