Amitabh Mattoo interacts with CUK faculty

Former advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Professor of Disarmament Studies at the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof Amitabh Mattoo Saturday interacted with the faculty members and officials of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at Green Campus here.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir, universityofficers, deans of schools, faculty members, and scholars participated in theinteraction. 

   

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Mattoo recalled about hischildhood memories and growing years in Kashmir and described them asextraordinarily pleasant. He lauded the egalitarian way of life in Kashmir inearly 1960s. He said that there is absolutely no negative memory impressed onhis mind as far as growing up in Kashmir is concerned. He said that Kashmirtaught him the value of cultural harmony among different communities, addingthat Kashmiris had a very simple lifestyle. 

Prof Mattoo said that excellence in any field does notrecognize competition, adding that hard work helps to scale heights, andachieve targets, even if the road is difficult. “From Srinagar to Siliconvalley, excellence has takers.”
