Train service was suspended on the Srinagar-Banihal route on Wednesday following a gunfight between militants and the government forces in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The Srinagar-Banihal train service has been suspended due to the security reasons, a railway official said.
He said the service was suspended as a precautionary measure in the wake of gunfight in Khanabal.
However, train service from Srinagar to Baramulla and vice versa will operate as per the schedule, the official said.
The gunfight broke out early morning in Bunpora Muniward area of Khanabal. Two militants are believed to be trapped inside a house.
