Mother Helpage donated a house to one of the families, hit by September 2014 floods in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
The house, constructed at the cost of Rs 7, 30,000, was handed over to widow of Lateef Ahmad Bhat of Batapora, Anantnag in presence of respectables of the area, Program Manager Mother Helpage Zubar Ahmad Dagga said.
The family consisting of the widow and her five daughters have no permanent source of income and have lost the house in the last year's devastating floods.
"It was on the recommendations of the locals we took the initiative to construct the house. The family lives in extreme poverty," said Dagga.
"Mother Helpage will continue to support people in need in the future," he added.
