Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi today called upon the separatist leadership to announce an effective programme to sustain the present movement.
"Since the martyrdom of Burhan Wani the people across Kashmir and the Muslim belt in the Jammu region are in a state of mourning and are up against the government forces. In such a scenario it becomes imperative for the pro-resistance leadership to announce a programme that would help sustain the present movement. They are required assure the people of Jammu and Kashmir that their sacrifices won't go waste. They are also duty-bound to do it so that the people don't feel that they have been let down by us. If the leadership fails to do so, it will become difficult to pacify our freedom-loving people," Aasiya Andrabi, said in a statement today,
"Kashmir issue is once again being discussed at the International forums. If (Allah forbid) the leadership isn't able to do anything, it will be injustice to the martyrs who have scripted a new history by standing up against the forces and have laid down their lives. The murder of innocent people that includes kids and our daughter by the forces continues, so do the protests. Thus the leadership must recognize its responsibility and act to give a proper direction to this movement for the ultimate resolution of the long-pending Kashmir issue."
Meanwhile, a DeM spokesperson has condemned what she terms as hunting of the party chairperson by the forces. "These forces are looking for Aasiya Andrabi everywhere but, they should know that such tactic will not deter us from pursuing the pious struggle," she added.
