Kangan, June 3: The two-day annual Urs of Hazrat Mian Nizam-ud-din Kiyanvi (RA) that was scheduled to be observed on June 7 and 8 at Baba Nagri Wangath area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal has been cancelled by the authorities in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
Mian Bashir Ahmed, Sajjada Nasheen Darbar Baba Ji Larvi Trust that manages the Urs, comfirmed to Greater Kashmir that the annual Urs had been cancelled as it sees a congregation of around one lakh devotees from across J&K and outside.
Bashir said there will be no congregation on the Urs days as a social distancing measure in a bid to contain the pandemic.
The decision had been made as a precautionary measure and for the safety of the people, Bashir told Greater Kashmir.
