Annual Gangbal yatra concludes in Ganderbal

Officials said 55 devotees mostly Kashmiri pandits participated in the yatra.

The three day annual Gangbal yatra concluded here on Wednesday. 

The yatra had started last week on September 16. 

Officials said 55 devotees mostly Kashmiri pandits participated in the yatra. The authorities had put in adequate measures for the smooth conduct of yatra. The devotees held pooja and hawan at Naranag and Gangbal for three days.

The yatra is held every year in the month of September in which devotees mostly Kashmiri pundits visit the site situated in Harmukh mountain range.

Bung crop destroyed

Srinagar, Sep 19: Anantnag police destroyed bhung cultivation spread over 70 kanals of land in Bijbehara.

A joint team of police and security forces headed by SDPO Bijbehara along with officials of Excise and Revenue department, destroyed the crop at Tulkhan Bijbehara and its adjoining areas.

The locals of the area have appreciated the efforts of police in curbing the menace of drugs in the area and have expressed wish that the drive continue in future also.

RADMS training program

Srinagar, Sep 19: Shopian police has conducted a training program on Road Accident Data Management System (RADMS) at DPO Shopian.

The workshop was conducted in order to manage the data information of accidents in the district and to impart skills for on-spot management and data collection of the road accidents.
