‘Arms, ammunition recovered in LoC village’

Security forces on Thursday recovered arms and ammunition from Dulanja village along the Line of Control (LoC) in this border town, the army said.

While addressing a press conference at 12th Infantry Brigade in Uri, army’s Commanding Officer of 8 Rashtriya Rifles, VivekVenkat said the security forces had been receiving regular inputs about delivery of consignment in areas along the LoC.

   

He said search operations were conducted in areas alongside Jhelum river including Kala Bhat, Chappar, Dhulanja, Cutting Area, Dulanja Infantry Safe Line (ISL).

He said on September 9, a credible input was received from Police regarding arms in general area of Dulanja following which a search operation was launched today.

The Commanding Officer, who was flanked by SDPO Uri, JunaidWali and SHO Uri, Muhammad Ashraf, said during searches two rifles, two pistols, four magazines (M16 Rifle) and four pistol magazines were recovered from the village.
