Army pays tributes to slain soldier

Army on Tuesday paid rich tributes to late havildar Vijay Kumar, who was killed during an anti-militancy operation at Nadegam village in Shopian, wherein four militants were killed on Tuesday.

An Army spokesman in a statement said, “In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the soldier on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the deceased.”  

   

Late Havildar Vijay Kumar, was 37 years old and had joined the Army in 2001. He belonged to village Sagwan of Tosham tehsil in Bhiwani, Haryana and is survived by his wife and three children.
