Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Rahgav Langer, ARTO Pulwama Friday conducted vehicle checking drive in Tral town.
During the drive scores of vehicles were checked throughout the day. The drive was conducted in view of repeated complaints pouring from the area regarding the overcharging of fares by the service providers and violation of SOPs.
During the drive, more than 20 vehicles were challaned and Rs 5,000 was recovered from offenders under various sections of Motor Vehicles Act whereas some vehicles were also “blacklisted”.
