Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jammu and Kashmir, has asked the district election officers (DEOs) to submit information regarding district-level nodal officers for forthcoming assembly elections within two days.
In a order bearing number 1876/CEO/ELEC/2019/3060-82 dated 26-04-2019 to all deputy commissioners, who also act as district election officers, the CEO has shared the format for submission of information regarding the district level nodal officers for forthcoming assembly elections 2019, and requested them to submit the same within two days.
The letter comes on a day when the Election Commission ofIndia is holding a high-level meeting in New Delhi over holding of assemblyelections in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official told Greater Kashmir that the State’s ChiefSecretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Electoral Officer Shailendra Kumar, DirectorGeneral of Police, Dilbag Singh and Home Secretary Shaleen Kabra would meet theECI team to discuss the “feasible time” to conduct Assembly elections in thestate.
