Atal Duloo reviews dev projects in Anantnag

Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, Atal Duloo, who is also in-charge Secretary district Anantnag, today chaired a meeting of the officers and engineers of Anantnag here and took a detailed review of the developmental works, mega and languishing projects under execution in district Anantnag.

Atal Duloo directed the officers and engineers to speed upthe pace of construction work and complete the projects in a stipulated timeframe. He asked the DDC Anantnag to fix the responsibility to the concernedofficers and engineers for completing the projects and delays caused if anyresulting in cost escalation. He emphasized upon the officers to focus onAgriculture and allied sectors, setting up of income generating units underMSME, Handicrafts, Handlooms, Dairy, Sheep Rearing, Fish Farming, High DensityPlantation for sustainable economy, in addition to the infrastructuredevelopment and welfare schemes.

   

The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, KhalidJahangir, through a Power Point Presentation informed the Chair about thesector wise achievements made under CAPEX Budget 2018 – 19.

The meeting was informed that against an allocation of Rs.199.05 Cr, an expenditure of 194 Cr. has been made under various sectors in thedistrict including R&B, Education, Health, PHE, RDD, YSS Urban Developmentand Agriculture & Allied Sectors. It was given out that under ElementaryEducation, 42 projects, 12 projects including 05 PHCs under Health Sector, 28water Supply schemes, 25 projects under R&B are in different phases ofcompletion in the district, out of which 04 WSS, 09 road projects and 05 PHCshave been completed. Further, it was given out that out of the total roadlength of 1800 KMs, 1400 KMs have already been macadamized in the district,also against a macadamization target of 65 KMs for 2019 – 20, 38 KMs standmacadamized.

Under PMGSY, out of the 242 total schemes at an estimatedcost of 558.07 lacs, involving 813.98 Km road length, 165 schemes having a roadlength of 585 Kms have been macadamized by the end of March 2019. Likewise,against a mecadamization target of 126 Kms for the year 2019 – 20, 30 Kms havebeen completed.    

Regarding the progress achieved by Animal husbandrydepartment, the meeting was informed that the district has a total cattlepopulation of 2.11 lakh with a milk production of 7 lakh litres/day. Inaddition, under vaccination programme, against a target of 8 lakh dozes, 5.63doses of vaccine including FMD, HS, BQ has been administered up to the end ofJune 2019 and 27646 Artificial Inseminations have been conducted by thedepartment.

Further meeting was informed that under MGNERGA, out of the13508 taken up works including 7277 spill over works, 12692 works standcompleted physically with an expenditure of Rs.94.11 Cr, which is 98% of thetotal allocation. Against the target of 49.50 lakh man-days, 54.7 lakh man dayshave been generated which has been recorded as 107 % in the district. Likewise,under PMAY, financial assistance for 1524 beneficiaries has been disbursed forthe construction of residential houses.

Regarding the progress of Mega Projects, including GMCAnantnag, 300 bedded MMABM District Hospital, Rehmat Alam Hospital, TraumaHospital Bijbehara, SDH Dooru, STP Anantnag, 62 KLDs capacity STP at UrnhallMultilevel Car Parking, Shopping Complex Old SRTC, Dewatering Pumps and FruitMandi at Jablipora, the DDC Anantnag informed the Chair that the work in underprogress in full swing on all projects and most of the projects have eitherbeen completed or under final phase of completion. He sought intervention ofthe Chair for the release of additional funds and clearance of outstandingliabilities.

Likewise the meeting was informed that under LanguishingProjects, most have been completed and are ready for the inauguration and workis in progress on other projects which will be completed by the September 2020.

Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag, JDPlanning, SEs & Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, PMGSY, UEED&Hydraulics, CMO, CEO, CAO, CAHO, District Sheep Officer, DSWO, ACDAnantnag and other concerned officers.
