Autonomy unacceptable to people: DeM

Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) today condemned the killing of 70-year old Ghulam Muhammad Khan of Ilahi Bagh and Rizwan Ahmad of Noorbagh here.

"Indian forces are on a killing spree in Kashmir. Besides, by killing with pellets, bullets and shells, these barbaric forces kill us by accidents as well. The state aggressors are using every mode to kill the people of Kashmir," a spokesperson of DeM, in a statement today, said.

Lashing out at Farooq Abdullah, the spokesperson said, "No autonomy or 1953 position is acceptable to the people of Kashmir and the current movement against brutal Indian control will continue till the implementation of UN resolutions. People of Kashmir have not rendered sacrifices for autonomy or for 1953 position. NC talks about autonomy and 1953 position to come into power."

The spokesperson said, "Who had given Rs 500 or Rs 1000 to Ghulam Muhammad Khan as claimed by the oppressors. The new Rs 2000 notes are for the workers of National Conference and PDP to sell the blood of martyrs. People resisting the forced control do not need money or monetary benefits." Meanwhile, the DeM secretary general Nahida Nasreen, said, "Had there been a four month strike anywhere in India, bodies would have piled on the streets. It is the courage of the people of Kashmir that they are firm for the pious cause despite all odds."
