Azad urges Rajouri people to maintain calm
The Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad has appealed the people of Rajouri to maintain calm and defeat the nefarious designs of disruptive forces.
In a statement here Azad expressed serious concern over the rising communal tension in certain parts of Rajouri district.
He urged the peace-loving people of Rajouri in particular and that of the State in general to remain vigilant about the nefarious designs of the disruptive forces and requested them to maintain calm and tranquillity at all costs.
Azad expressed hope that people of the State would not fall prey to machinations of the disruptive forces and will maintain calm and amity at all costs. He especially called upon the community leaders to rise above religious affiliations and narrow considerations and strive for restoring amity, confidence and peace in the strife torn areas of Rajouri.
Azad also asked the State Government and the local administration to take all the necessary steps for the early restoration of peace and harmony. "There is an urgent need to rebuild the trust and confidence amongst the different sections of society and State Govt should fulfill its duty towards the people of the State," said Azad.
Cautioning the people to see through the sinister motives of the devious forces hell bent to disturb peace and tranquillity in the State, Azad said that due to their machinations people of J&K have already suffered immensely and therefore, they should not fall prey to such hideous provocations.
