The residents of Ajas and Kehnusa villages on Tuesday held protest demonstrations against the power development department for its “failure” to supply electricity as per schedule.
The residents of Ajas village blocked Bandipora-Srinagar highway causing disruption in the traffic movement for several hours.
The residents said the village was reeling under darkness for last several days, as the “PDD has failed to provide power as per schedule.”
“The department resorts to more than 14-15 hour curtailment. This has made our life miserable and forced us to come on the roads so that our problem is addressed,” said Imran a protestor.
Meanwhile, residents of Kehnusa village also held a protest demonstration against the department.
The residents blocked Banidpora-Sopore road for several hours to register their protest.
