A resident of old Baramulla town was killed Sunday and two others were injured when a passenger vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Mandi Tikri in Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as Faisal Rashid, 26, son of Abdul Rashid Peer.
Reports said a a shared passenger cab JK 11 6419 was on its way to Srinagar at the time of the mishap.
The two injured were shifted to a nearby primary health centre.
A pall of gloom descended in the old town Baramulla as the news of Peer’s death reached his home.
Hundreds of people visited the bereaved family and expressed their solidarity.
