Senior vice president of Democratic Freedom Party and former convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Pak chapter) Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has paid tributes to Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru.
“Shaheed Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guru were the torch bearers of the ongoing movement and their peerless contribution and indomitable role in the freedom movement would be remembered for a long time in the history of Kashmir”, Saghar said in a statement.
Referring to JKLF co-founder Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, the DFP leaders said that ‘it was no secret that his trial was also shrouded in controversy.” Saghar also expressed his gratitude to the government as well as the people of Pakistan for expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He expressed the optimism that Pakistan will continue to raise voice for Kashmiris at all national, regional and international forums.
