Bilal Kawa arrest: Jammu and Kashmir govt afraid of Delhi, says Sagar

Senior National Conference leader and MLA Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday said that the “fear” of New Delhi was forcing the state government to remain silent on arrest of Kashmiri businessman Bilal Ahmad Kawa by Delhi Police.

“If you are not afraid of Delhi then why you are silent on detention of Bilal Kawa,” asked Sagar.

He was speaking in the Lower House and asked the parliamentary affairs minister Abdul Rehman Veeri to reply on the issue.

“Till date Supreme Court has released several youth after they were proved innocent,” Sagar said.

He told the House that Bilal has no links with militants and should be released.
