BJP hits out at opposition parties for ‘politicising’ border tension

The ruling BJP on Sunday slammed the opposition parties in Jammu and Kashmir over “politicizing” the border tensions.

“Opposition must not try to score political points by rhetoric and insignificant jibs,” BJP general secretary, Ashok Koul said. “Opposition parties in the state should desist from politicizing the situation being witnessed at present on the borders.”

“Indian government cannot surrender before Pakistan and while the other side would fire shells, the Indian side cannot raise the white flag and accept the terms. The attacks are being carried by the other side only. We are being compelled by such actions to retaliate. It is unfortunate that the civilian population gets affected by the skirmishes but this is also true that our government cannot surrender before them,” Koul said.

He added that by keeping the LoC hot, “the other side is trying to make the infiltration of militants possible into Jammu and Kashmir and these acts must be thwarted in all possible way.”

“This is the reason that we will give them befitting reply. We cannot sit and relax amid such grim situation,” Koul added.

The BJP general secretary further said that there is relative calm on borders now and it is hoped that the “other side must not repeat the mistakes again.”
