In a first, the Bharatiya Janta Party Saturday took out a rally in north Kashmir’s Bandipora to start membership drive in the district.
Scores of party workers led by BJP senior leaders includingits state vice-president Dr Ali Mohammad Mir, state spokesperson Altaf Thakurand MLC Surinder Ambardar took out the rally from district headquarters toNowpora Chowk. Talking to reporters, Mir said the party had decided to startmembership drive from Bandipora.
He said that hundreds of people participated in the rallyand the membership drive.
