BJP seeks disqualification of Akbar Lone for raising ‘pro-Pak’ slogans

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday sought the disqualification of National Conference candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans.

“Itis to bring to your kind notice that National Conference candidate fromBaramulla parliamentary constituency Muhammad Akbar Lone through his speechresorted to ultimate disrespect to the country by raising pro Pakistanslogan— “Pakistan zindabad” which has hurt the sentiments of peoplenot only in Jammu and Kashmir but also the people of entire India,” reads theBJP letter  sent to Chief ElectoralOfficer (CEO), Jammu and Kashmir.

   

Throughthe letter, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur, has requested the CEO to take seriousnote of Lone’s speech. He said the videos of the speech were available onsocial media.

Akbar Lone hits back

Meanwhile,Akbar Lone hit back at BJP for asking it to file an FIR against him for raising”Pro-Pakistan” slogans.

 “I will defend Article 370 and Article 35-A inParliament. National Conference stands for resolution of Kashmir issue and wewill strive hard for its resolution,” local news agency KNS quoted Lone ashaving told the reporters at the sidelines of a rally in Tangmarg.
