To mark Mehjoor Day, a blood donation camp was organized by All J&K Patwar Association Kashmir here on Tuesday.
According to Sajad Siddque, state president of the association, all senior members of the association had arrived from Jammu to participate in the camp. "State vice president Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie had arrived from Jammu to donate the blood. More than three hundred Patwaris were ready to voluntarily donate blood during this camp. However, due to some technicalities by the medical team, they said that they have only capacity to preserve fifty points of blood," he added.
As many as fifty five pints of blood were donated by Patwaris, he added.
Provincial president of patwar association Peerzada Fayaz Ahmad Baba said that association is going to organize such camps in every district of the state.
"This is not what we have organized today and concluded. It will go on as we are organizing these camps in every district in coming days," he informed.
Hailing the statement of Revenue Minister AR Veeri wherein he had said that those Revenue officials who bring bad name to the department would be taken to task, Baba said that association supports the Minister for the move.
"We are against corruption. We want government to make the transfer and posting policy transparent. There should be no political interference in transfer and postings, which otherwise is a root cause for corruption," he said, adding, "Remove those found guilty of corruption, tempering of revenue records and other offences. Minister will find us supporting the system of justice."
Minister for Revenue AR Veeri, divisional commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmed Khan, deputy commissioner Budgam Muhammad Haroon Malik, president KAS officers association Tasaduq Hussain Mir, SSP Budgam, CMO Budgam and others were also present on the occasion. GKNN
