Scores of members of bar association Budgam on Thursday held a protest against Kathua lawyers for blocking challan in horrific rape-and-murder case of Asifa Bano.
The protesting bar members demanded that the case be transferred from Kathua.
The bar members assembled at main Budgam Chowk and condemned the action of Kathua lawyers who prevented Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police from filing the charge sheet.
“We strongly condemn the recent action of Kathua lawyers. The Asifa rape-and-murder case should be transfer to Srinagar or within the premises of Jammu,” said the bar president, Noor Mohammad.
“We demand fair trial so that Asifa gets justice,” he said.
