CA storage projects | JKPICCA welcomes SLEC ‘s move

Srinagar, Nov 3: Jammu and Kashmir Fruits and Vegetables Processing and Integrated Cold Chain Association (JKPICCA) has welcomed a landmark decision by the State Level Executive Committee (SLEC) to give the green light to 11 projects related to Controlled Atmosphere Storage (CA Storage) in the Kashmir division, along with an additional project in the Jammu Division.

This approval signifies a significant leap forward in bolstering horticulture and agriculture production in the region, emphasising the commitment to integrated development within the horticulture sector.

   

Ejaz Qureshi, President of JK Fruits and Vegetables Processing and Integrated Cold Chain Association (JKPICCA), expressed his gratitude to Principal Secretary Shailendra Kumar for the approval of these projects.

In his statement, Qureshi underlined the pivotal role these initiatives will play in enhancing the capacity to meet the growing demand for Controlled Atmosphere Storage (CA Storage) facilities within the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

JKPICCA has been at the forefront of advocating for modern storage solutions in the horticulture sector, aiming to reduce post-harvest losses, extend the shelf life of produce, and ensure quality assurance.
